Question: From Dan. (Subject: Triglycerides...)q1
My Triglycerides are over 800 and I am taking Tricor and Niacin. Can I take this natural products and these prescription drugs?
Answer: From Nicolien.
There are no known interactions between Tricor, niacin and our Cholesterol Formula so no problem there. Our cholesterol formula should help a great deal with your Triglycerides. However, it is only a new product and we don't have a lot of feed back from customers at this stage.
I should mention as well that many customers are getting good results on lowering their Triglycerides by using our Omega 3 DHA/esters. Here is a fairly typical comment which we have posted on the customer comments section of our website with others:

Just wanted to let you know how thrilled we are with Omega 3/dha esters supplement. my husband, a slender 47-year-old man, has been taking Total Balance for about a year. We added cholesterol formula when he got routine blood work done and found cholesterol in near normal range but very high triglycerides.
On the next blood work his triglycerides had dropped about 12 points but were still too high. of course, our family doctor wanted to put him on rx but was understanding and cooperative when we told him we'd rather try an alternative method. He recommended fish oil.
It was about that time that you introduced omega 3 esters. after three months, with no other dietary changes (we try to eat right, make our own bread . . .), his triglycerides dropped over 75 points! we are thrilled! his total cholesterol is at 188 and triglycerides at 208. THANKS SO MUCH!

You may like to know that for lowering triglycerides a very important factor is diet. To lower triglyceride levels it is important to stop eating refined carbohydrates such as white flour, cookies, cakes, white bread, pasta etc and processed foods. Eat plenty of protein-foods such as lean meat, fish, poultry, tofu, eggs, etc, and eat fiber rich foods such as oats, bran, psyllium and fresh garlic. Avoid transfats and hydrogenated oils (deep fried foods, chips, cookies, margarine, fast food). Question: From Tina. (Subject: Child Headaches...)q2
I am trying to help my sister with her son he is having bad headaches every day in and out of school. He is 5 and the Doctor keeps treating him for allergies. He recently had a ct and everything was fine including sinus's but still everyday he is being called from school about headaches. My question is can a five year old try your neurological product?
Answer: From Nicolien.
Unfortunately our Neurological Formula is not suitable for children under 12 yrs of age.
Regarding the headaches of a 5-year old, I would support the doctor who is looking for allergies. This is a common cause of headaches. It may be good to check the child for (food) allergies, as this is a common cause of headaches, such as wheat, milk, eggs, etc. You could check how he feels when not having for example wheat, rye, oats and barley and dairy for a few weeks. If the headaches still occur try instead rice milk, rice, millet, and buckwheat to see if they are the cause.

Question: From C. (Subject: Boils.)q3
Tell me about the cause for boils on the body. Our physician has said that it comes from bacteria and an antibiotic has been prescribed. Neither hot baths nor salves has changed the condition of them or caused them to cease coming. Some don't even come to a head to burst. They just move to another part of the body but seeming in the same location. Any advice that works?
Answer: From Nicolien.
Boils often occur in parts of the body exposed to friction. They may be caused by for example, a Staphylococcus infection (bacteria), or may be caused by poor immune function due to diabetes, or other serious diseases or nutritional deficiencies, food allergies, excessive consumption of sugar and/or refined carbohydrates. In the case of a Staphylococcus infection, the most effective thing to take is antibiotics and use a topical antibacterial wash or cream.
Nutritionally, zinc and vitamin A are important to take in treatment of boils, and staying away from sugar, dairy and refined carbs is best.
You will benefit from taking a good multi-nutrient such as our Total Balance (TB). Since you have noticed that creams and antibiotics have not worked for you, underlying poor immune function is likely to be the cause. TB has great benefits to the immune system, the skin, and all other organ systems and contains zinc, vitamin A, and many ingredients that act as anti-inflammatories to help clear up the boils. To read more about TB click here.
Another supplement that you would benefit from for your skin, immune system and general health, is Omega 3/DHA fish oil. To view our Omega 3/DHA fish oil, and all the health benefits it offers, see this URL.
