Question: From Carol. (Subject: Continuing with cholesterol formula?)q1

I found your products online by doing research on red rice yeast to help my husband with high cholesterol. I was so excited to come across your website and outstanding products. So glad I didn't buy the red rice yeast which I didn't have a clue about, thank you for informing me of its hazards. My husband's been on your Cholesterol Formula since December 2004, he was at 293 (total).

I am so happy to tell you he is down to 182 (as of May 2005). It's just amazing and I am so thankful to you. He loves it because there are no side effects. He drives for a living so I didn't want him to have any problems. I wanted to use a natural approach as I am like many others knowing prescription drugs are not always the way to go.

My question is, can I continue to keep my husband on the Cholesterol Formula without any risks? He doesn't have the best diet in the world, not many "whole foods" are included. This is also something to be said for your Cholesterol Formula, here's a 38 year old man who doesn't eat well yet his numbers still come down, WOW! What do you think? I have him on the Omega 3's also. You are the BEST and I will recommend you to anyone I come across with a Cholestrol problem. A safe alternative that really does work! Can't begin to express my thanks to you. Love the informative newsletters also!

Answer: From Nicolien.

Thank you so much for sharing this good news with us. I am delighted that your husband's cholesterol levels have come down so well.

Yes, he can safely keep taking the Cholesterol Formula. However, to ensure maximum efficacy I would suggest that he now takes a break from the formula for two weeks. He can then resume taking the Cholesterol Formula. But... I would suggest he tries just a half dose (1 capsule 30 - 60 minutes before the evening meal).

This may well be a high enough dose to maintain the gains he has already made. No, point in spending any more money that you need to. I would suggest though, that he has his levels checked again in about 2- 3 months after resuming, just in case he has to go back to the full dose.

Another suggestion! Perhaps you may wish to allocate the financial saving from the lower dose towards our Total Balance Men's Plus. This would give him a whole range of health benefits, particularly given that his diet is not brilliant. He is at an age where he should be taking prevention measures for his prostate. Total Balance is excellent for helping to sustain the health of the prostate.

Question: From Ray. (Subject: I would like to share this information with your readers!)

I have been using your Cholesterol formula and Fish Oil formulas daily. I was diagnosed back in January of 2005 with total Cholesterol level of 267 with HDL @ 95, LDL 172, Trigl:169 CK:185.

My doctor wanted to put me on Statin drug. I decided not to and went for alternative options. I changed my diet almost immediately with cutback of red meat, dairy & SUGAR(no refined SUGARS at all) and start taking the Xtend Life formulas. Additionally, I also included in my daily intakes 5 to 6 gm of Psyllium Husk, 500 MG of Niacin (Vitamin B3) non-flushing, and 16 oz of Pomegrande & Grape Juice (pure/fresh) daily. I'm 42 years old with 5' 8" athletic frame. I play competitive Soccer so I'm physically fit and get plenty of intensive workouts.

Last week I went back for my physical and tests again. I'm looking at my new report and according to my physician it's incredible.

Total Cholesterol: 200
HDL: 110
LDL: 90
TG: 119
CK: 128

Glucose: Non-fasting: 70
Glucose: Fasting: 85

I can't say with absolute certainty what actual worked. But I wanted to share this bit of news with your readers. I do admire your contribution and hard work to help others. One last thing I really would like for you to consider is Psyllium Husk, Vitamin B3 and Pomegranate Juice combination along with Cholesterol Formula as an excellent all-round arsenal against fighting this HDL-LDL imbalance.

Answer: From Warren.

You have no idea the 'kick' that we all get at Xtend-Life when we receive emails like yours. The satisfaction that this gives us is truly immense. I still can't stop thinking how amazing it is that we are able in our small way to help people scattered all around the world.

With regard to your suggestion to add Psyllium Husks and the other substances to a cholesterol lowering regime, I am all in favour of this. It is the sum of the whole that counts and by adding in these extra substances it can only help.

Another good suggestion is a daily tablespoon of lecithin granules. These are inexpensive additions and they all help. We are currently revamping our website and we will include some of these suggestions in our recommended protocols.

Question: From Alison. (Subject: Fish oil and children.)q3

I recently read a report that my father sent to me from England about taking fish oil capsules and that they are recommended for children to take to help with concentration, reading abiliity and general awareness at school.

So here I am asking you are they suitable for children and from what age? I have three very healthy happy children but was considering giving them fish oil capsules to supplement their diet; Not one of them enjoys eating oily fish!

Would your product be suitable for them; Looking forward to your response.

Answer: From Nicolien.

Yes, indeed your children would indeed benefit from our Omega 3/DHA fish oil, much more so than a 'normal' fish oil. It is indeed very good for brain health. Younger children (under around 10 years of age) often have difficulty swallowing capsules, so in these cases the soft gels need to be squeezed out and put into food or a smoothie.

Let me know how old your children are and I can advise you on the dose.

Something extra...q4

We thought that we would share a somewhat amusing incident with you. A customer called the other day worried because her kitty had bitten into one of our cholesterol soft gels. It was apparently running around quite hyper and frothing at the mouth. Anyway, all ended well. Here is an email just received from her:

Shiree, I think you may have the person I spoke with day before yesterday regarding my little kitty biting into a cholesterol caplet? If so, I want to thank you again for your help and concern, everything is fine here.

I did call a national help line for felines and they had your cholesterol product in their data bank! And they only warned me that the green tea derivatives may cause her to be a little hyper for a time (lol), otherwise we were A-Ok!

Thanks again!!!

And if I didn't talk to you, I spoke to someone at your 1 800 number who was very kind, concerned and helpful!

Debra
