Question: From Jane. (Subject: Total Balance and Canada...)q1
I understand that you were reformulating your Total Balance Men's and Women's Plus so that we as Canadians, can purchase these products. My husband and I are currently using your Total Balance Unisex which you have already formulated for Canada.
Can you tell me please when you expect the new Canadian versions of the Total Balance Men's and Women's to be available and what is the difference between these and your standard formulation?
Answer: From Warren.
You will be pleased to know Jane that we have already completed the first production run of the reformulated versions of Total Balance for Men and Women for the Canadian market.
The products are identical to our new 4th generation Total Balance which includes the L-Glutathione EXCEPT we have removed the Acetyl-L-Carnitine which is not allowed under Canadian law as it is classified as a drug. We have never been able to really figure out why this should be the case as it is considered a supplement everywhere else in the world... but, those are the rules in Canada.
Never mind... we have been able to replicate the action of Acetyl-L-Carnitine by adding additional L-Methionine (Up from 20mgs to 200mgs per 6 tabs) plus L-Lysine HCL (105 mgs per 6 tabs). This will give the same benefits as the Acetyl-L-Carnitine but will fall within the approvals of Health Canada and thus avoid any customs problems.

Question: From Donald. (Subject: Osteoporosis...)q2
Is phytonutrients with coral calcium the best product to quickly reverse osteoporosis? Do you recommend anything else to help?
Answer: From Warren.
Yes, this is probably your best option in so far as a supplement for osteoporosis is concerned. Many customers have reported a definite increase in bone density after using it for a few months. It seems to be a lot more effective than just using calcium either on its own or in conjunction with magnesium and/or Vitamin D.
Although we have no hard data to support it, we believe that the reason for the success lies as much with the phytonutrients as it does with the calcium. We believe that the phytonutrients help reduce the leaching of calcium from the bones which is the biggest cause of osteoporosis, even more so than a shortage of calcium intake.
Also, don't overlook the importance of weight bearing exercise to reverse this problem. No matter what your age there is an overwhelming amount of proof that this type of exercise will help. Bones are like muscle in that being a living tissue they have to be 'worked' to sustain their strength. Walking will not do it...it must be smooth resistance exercise.

Question: From Carol. (Subject: MSM Allergies...)q3
Your Total Balance (Unisex) formula looks really good and interesting; however, I am extremely allergic to MSM or any sulfur containing formula. In addition, as an asthmatic it increases the number of attacks.
I do not know how common MSM sensitivity is, and many people may not realize they are sensitive to it.
With all the MSM supplements available is it really necessary to include it in your formula?
Answer: From Nicolien.
We do understand that some people can indeed be sensitive to MSM. We also appreciate that although it is a common substance many people have a deficiency of this nutrient. For this reason we feel that it is important that it remains within the supplement.
However, Prof. Dr. Munem set the levels of MSM in Total Balance at a level which would still be beneficial but not cause a problem for the overwhelming majority of people. The amount of MSM in 6 tablets is 215mgs or 35.83mgs per tablet which is quite low.
This breaks down to 71mgs of elemental sulfur per day if you are taking the full dose of 6 tablets a day, or just under 12mgs of sulfur per tablet.
For people who are allergic to sulfur a good rule of thumb when assessing if our Total Balance will cause a problem, is... if you can eat eggs. If you can then you would be OK with the amount of MSM in the Unisex supplement.
