Xtend-Life announces new staff appointment...n1

Nicolien de Vries a qualified medical herbalist recently joined the staff of Xtend-Life Natural Products. She came to New Zealand from Holland specifically to participate in an intensive three year full time course with the Canterbury School of Natural Medicine in Christchurch, from which she graduated last December. The Canterbury School of Natural Medicine is considered to be one of the best in the world.

She is fluent in five languages and has a background working in medical establishments in Europe.

Warren Matthews comments: Nicolien will be a real benefit to our customers. In addition to helping prepare easy to understand information for our website, from the hundreds of pages of technical documentation that Prof. Dr. A Munem prepares for our own internal use, she will also be available to answer customers individual queries. We will be preparing a new contact page on our website (within the next 10 days) which will enable you to easily contact her direct.

FDA wants stronger suicide warning on some drugs...n2

According to the FDA the drugs of concern are: Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, Effexor, Celexa, Lexapro, Luvox, which are SSRI-like drugs, and Remeron, Serzone and Wellbutrin, which have a different mechanism.

Although the FDA has asked the manufacturers to modify their labels it is not mandatory and as yet it is not clear if manufacturers will comply.

Last year British health authorities raised an alarm, saying long-suppressed research suggests serotonin-affecting antidepressants might sometimes increase the risk of suicidal behavior in children and teenagers .

Warren Matthews comments: This is a serious problem, brought to a head last month when a 19 year old woman who was participating in a study for an experimental antidepressant produced by Eli Lilly & Co hung herself in a Company run facility.

What made this so bizarre is that prior to enrolling in the study she had no depression problems!

Depression is now rampant in modern society and will, I believe get a lot worse in the coming years due to deteriorating nutrient intake in the modern diet. Contrary to popular belief, many depression problems are actually caused by less than efficient 'firing' of the synapses in the brain due to an inadequate intake of neuronutrients.

For your info, we are developing a very special natural neurological supplement that will be of real help for those people suffering from depression, anxiety and memory loss.

FTC 'attacks' QVC home shopping channel adverts...n3

At the request of the US Federal Trade Commission the US Dept of Justice is suing QVC, Inc., in the Federal Court for civil penalties, consumer redress, and other relief. This action is brought about as a results of QVC making 'improper' claims for "For Women Only" weight-loss products, Lite Bites weight-loss products, Bee-Alive royal jelly dietary supplements, and Lipofactor Cellulite Target Lotion.

Warren Matthews comments: When will people learn? Claims that you will lose 50 - 100 pounds in weight through taking a supplement are absolutely ludicrous! There is NO pill in the world that will achieve these claims unless it was made of poison and made you so sick that you could not eat, fell ill and literally wasted away. Don't be taken in by these infomercials or 'interviews' no matter how slick and convincing they are. They are all contrived, although very convincing. For some help on weight loss, download the special weight loss report on our website. You may find some useful hints... and it's free!
